Now we’ve heard everything. Martine McCutcheon, bodacious Brit beauty (you know her from “Love Actually” wooing Hugh Grant) who has been spotted looking noticeably curvier of late, is reportedly being advised to pile ON the pounds ahead of the launch of her fitness DVD.
The curvy over-the-pond star is set to wed her long-term beau, Jack McManus (UK pop rocker) next year and has been approached to film a lucrative fitness DVD – but is being encouraged to put on weight to make the results look more dramatic (do tell!).
A friend of the couple said: “With her wedding to Jack next summer, she has already had a few concrete offers to launch a bridal slimming DVD. All brides want to be smashing in their gowns but most are tired of the obligation to starve themselves to fit into too-teeny dresses.
“At the moment the idea seems to be for Martine to eat whatever she fancies, possibly pile on a few more pounds, and then embark on a concerted weight loss regime.”
The friend continued: “Apparently the aim is to make the weight loss appear as dramatic as possible, taking her from a size 18 to a slimmer size 12.”
What do we think of this? QG is somewhat tickled that the Brit dailies think of a size 12 now as “slimmer” but are we OK with Miss Love Actually getting more shapely to then drop the lbs to tout a weight loss DVD?
According to McCutcheon during holiday 2011, she reckons she is happier than ever after embracing her new found curvier body. But Martine, 35, told People Mag UK: “I like the fact that I have boobs and a bum.” The star, says her crooner rocker beau Jack “Makes me feel really sexy.”
She insisted in the interview that bigger women, like superstar singer Adele, are good role models for image-conscious girls. Martine said: “Adele is great because she promotes the idea of being happy as you are.” The star also revealed she was bullied at school for being fatter than other girls. She said: “I don’t know whether it was my weight or because I was quite ambitious but a couple of girls made my life hell. It was a horrible time.”
Well it’s certainly not a horrible time now for the Britty darling, we just hope she stays true to her new busty-boobie look and joins the ranks and file of the Proud and Curvy Chicks here at QG WD!
